Tired and out of strength?

She said “it feels like you are standing all alone by yourself, like the world is against you”.

Ever feel that way?

Life gets hard when the situations around you seem to all be working against you. But Life gets REALLY hard when those who were your friends also take sides against you. That is a lonely place to be. What do you do when that happens?

Unfortunately some people run from life. Some turn to alcohol and or drugs. Some decide it is just not worth living.

If you are close to that place today, I want to share a story with you.

In 1 Samuel chapter 30 we read about David and his army. They were strong and had won many battles. They lived in Ziklag but while away they returned only to find the Amalekites had attacked and burned Ziklag and had taken their families, their wives and children, everyone young and old. Things were bad.

The text says, 1 Samuel 30:4  4 So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep.

Imagine returning home only to find your families taken and your town burned. Not a good day…

Just when it seemed that things could not get any worse  – we read his soldiers turned against him and were thinking of stoning him.

1 Samuel 30:6  6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters.

But what I want you to see is what David did… The text says…

“But David found strength in the LORD his God.”

If it feels like things are becoming overwhelming in life or you feel like you are standing all alone, how about turning to God and allow Him to strengthen you. Take some time and get alone with Him and pray and read of His care and love for you – you just might find yourself getting a stronger with a different perspective….

By the way, David and his men went after the Amalekites and took their families back.

Stand strong, be strengthened by the Lord when things get tough… and take back what is yours!
