LRBC Pastoral Ministry

The mission of the Pastoral ministry at Living Rock is to Glorify God by being eager to reach out to others who are searching for Christ, by being available to teach others the truths within the scriptures, and by being willing and eager to help, care and shepherd those who are struggling emotionally, spiritually or physically.

The pastoral ministry of Living Rock provides evangelism, prayer, teaching, spiritual oversight, and care for those in need. The ministry uses the words of scripture to establish objectives and emphasis.

Consider the words of Scripture:

The early curch leaders recognized their spiritual responsibility and privilege to pray and teach others.
NIV Acts 6:4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.

The apostle Paul during his farewell address to the Elders at Ephesus reminded them to oversee and shepherd themselves as well as those in their flock.

NIV Acts 20:28 Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

The words to the young pastor Timothy from his mentor Paul.

NIV 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage– with great patience and careful instruction.

Our Mission Statement

Living Rock Bible Church exists to Glorify God by reaching the lost of the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, by nurturing believers to become fully devoted followers of Christ, and by caring for one another with the love of Christ.

1. Our mission statement reveals the primary reason we come together as a church.

2. Our mission states that we exist to bring Glory to God!

3. Our mission focuses on three "people groups".

  • To those who do not know Christ. (the lost)
  • To those who know Christ. (believers)
  • To those who need special care. (each one…particularly shepherding the hurting and less fortuate)

4. Our mission is "action oriented". (Note the 3 verbs: reaching, nurturing, caring.)

  • Reaching involves "going…with the idea to share the gospel"
  • Nuturing involves "building others up in the faith"
  • Caring involves "extending care through compassionate, kind, and loving actions"

5. Our mission is "Chirst Centered"

  • Presenting Christ (in evangelism)
  • Nurturing others into Christ likeness. (in our instruction, admonition and exhortation)
  • Loving others as Christ loves. (in our compassion, empathy, giving and loving actions)
