We are going to Reach Workcamps again for our youth mission trip.

Warrenton, Virginia

July 4th - July 10th, 2010

We are very excited to be going on another Reach Workcamp this year. We will be doing light construction duties on homes for people that are less fortunate than we are. Most of the home owners are handicapped, elderly, poverty stricken or all of the above. The work we will be doing consists of building handicap ramps, roofing, painting, drywall and spackling, flooring, plumbing, light electrical and what ever else is needed to be done. But the most important work to be done is to serve others and to share God's love as Jesus has done for us. We get to know our home owners personally, we work with our home owners, eat lunch with our home owners and have devotions and prayer time at lunch where the home owner is invited to join in if they choose too.

Reach Workcamps is a christian organization that finds the work to be done and relies on church youth groups to do the work. They plan your whole week out so that all you have to do is get a group together and go. They are the the most organized organization that I know of. They have a schedule for work, meals, program, worship and devotion time and all information on each one of these. The jobs are very well organized also with indepth details of the work and how to do it. No experiance necessary. They have adults to supervise the youth and to teach the skills necessary to complete the task. The work isn't the only reason why we enjoy Reach Workcamps so much, the programs, skits, worship time and devotion time, that they have put together by their staff are awesome. All of these are geared to start a relation with God, or increase, deepen and strengthen each indivdual's relationship with God. The whole week is very memorable experiance for the youth and youth group leaders and the adult group leaders, no matter what your age. We encourage other churchs and youth groups to adopt Reach Workcamps as a youth mission trip. Whats really cool is that our church group isn't the only group there. Reach rents out a school in the area of work and fills it with around 450 youth and adult leaders. We work together, we eat together, interact in the programs together, worship together, fellowship together and carry on together for a whole week.
